macOS proxy clients (v2rayN, Clash, Surge, Quantumult, Shadowrocket) can appear to be running — process alive in Activity Monitor — while actually doing nothing. The GUI process and even the proxy core can linger as dangling processes that serve only an API port without proxying any traffic.
